Key Strategic Decisions on Technology

Speed does matter. Every page should load in under 3 seconds—because that’s how long it takes to flip a magazine page, according to Google.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve mapped out the tech foundation for my ecosystem of projects. Each one — whether it’s my DIY builds, money skills platform, or family content — shares a common structure: digital downloads, coaching, and online courses.

This post outlines the key strategic decisions I made — and why they matter.

The exact tools and stack I use are available as a PDF for subscribers at the end.

1. One Central System for All Projects

Instead of setting up a separate site for every new idea, I’ve gone for a unified approach: one backend, multiple domains, multiple languages.

Why?

  • Simpler updates and backups
  • Reusable components
  • Faster time-to-launch for new experiments
  • Everything in one place

2. Hosting That Prioritizes Speed

I compared several premium providers, and one stood out due to its edge-first delivery, global caching, and fast response even for logged-in users.

Why it matters

  • Fast page loads from Europe to the US
  • Built-in protection, backups, and performance tuning
  • No need to configure third-party services

3. Language Strategy That Works

I chose to map each language to its own domain (.com, .de, .ro) and use a translation engine that integrates cleanly into my system.

Why per-language domains?

  • Clear SEO benefit
  • Better user trust
  • Easier analytics tracking

4. One Public Journal to Document It All

Rather than fragmenting the story, I decided to keep one blog — this one — as my build-in-public hub. Here you’ll find sketches, failures, insights, and course corrections.

Why centralize it?

  • Easier to follow the big picture
  • Flexible tagging across projects
  • Makes linking and sharing effortless

5. A Common Set of Building Blocks

Each project will include:

  • Digital products
  • Coaching
  • Online courses
  • Self-assessments
  • Newsletter onboarding

They all share the same layouts, visuals, and user experience — optimized once and reused many times.
